Cupping is an ancient therapeutic practice that involves placing cups on the skin to create a vacuum or suction effect. The cups are typically made of glass, bamboo, or silicone, and they are applied to various parts of the body. Suction can be created either by heating the air inside the cup (fire cupping) or by using a pump to create a vacuum (wet or dry cupping). We only use dry cupping which involves placing the cups on the skin and creating suction without any incisions. It is used to promote blood flow, relieve muscle tension, and enhance relaxation. Cupping is used in traditional Chinese medicine, as well as other healing practices worldwide. It’s believed to improve circulation, reduce pain, and balance the body's energy, or "qi." People sometimes use it for conditions like back pain, headaches, muscle soreness, and even respiratory issues. After cupping, people may notice circular marks on their skin, which can last for a few days. These marks are typically harmless and are a result of blood being drawn to the surface of the skin.
